that decision made no attempt to proceed with any work for a

double line of tramway with centre poles.

In conclusion I have to remark that accord-

ing to the calculation of the Director of Public Works the

quantity of concrete per mile in the maximum section which he

has laid down is 3,482 Cubic Yards, and not 3,872 Cubic Yards

as stated by Messrs. Dickinson and Company. This maxim

section extends over a distance of about 2,400 feet only, or

less than half a mile. In all other cases the quantity of

concrete is less.

I enclose a drawing of the cross-section

as approved by the Director of Public Works which the Company

now seeks to repudiate.
